RESULT: NORTHUMBRIA IN BLOOM AWARDS

THE PARISH COUNCIL was represented at Northumbria in Bloom Awards Event on Wednesday 20th September at ‘The Fed’ Gateshead, to receive Fishburn cemetery's award. The competition, now in its 59th year, is all about encouraging local communities to improve their area through community gardening and sound environmental practices. It is part of the UK wide Britain in Bloom campaign run by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). Fishburn won Silver Gilt in the religious establishment category [cemetery]. Fishburn Primary School won Silver Gilt in the school category. [Gold – outstanding; Silver Gilt – very good; Silver – good; Bronze – average; Merit – Fair].
