30 March 2021OFFICIAL RESPONSE: FISHBURN AMBULANCE STATION
THE PARISH COUNCIL has received the following response from Mark Cotton, Assistant Director at North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, regarding Fishburn ambulance station:
"I hope I can put the concerns of your constituents at ease by assuring you that we have no plans to close Fishburn ambulance station. We did put an additional vehicle onto the station in 2019 as part of the extra investment received by from commissioners to increase our staffing and vehicles. However, the station site is small and became over-crowded as a result of the additional vehicle and accompanying crew. When the fire and rescue service offered us accommodation at their new community station in Sedgefield, this was an excellent opportunity for us to ease the over-crowding at Fishburn and locate one of our additional vehicles in Sedgefield, where we’ve not had a base before."
